Date of birth: December 10, 1960 Paolo Colombo is a full professor of Materials Science and Technology at the University of Padova, Department of Industrial Engineering, Padova, Italy. He graduated Summa cum Laude in Chemical Engineering from the University of Padova in 1985, and in 1987 obtained a diploma after a specialization course in Glass Engineering from the University of Padova. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the Pennsylvania State University (Department of Materials Science and Engineering) in 1991. He was an assistant professor at the University of Padova from 1990 to 1998 and then an associate professor at the University of Bologna, from 1998 until 2005. He is also an adjunct professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University, a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of University College London, UK.
