Curriculum

Date of birth: June 02, 1949

Vito Di Noto is Full Professor of Electrochemistry for Energy and Solid-State Chemistry in the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padova, Italy. He is the Head of the Section of Chemistry for Technology in the same Department, and the founder and the team leader of the research group "Chemistry of Materials for the Metamorphosis and the Storage of Energy - CheMaMSE".

Educational activity
The teaching activity of Prof. Vito Di Noto currently consists in a fundamental chemistry course and in advanced courses on electrochemistry, solid-state electrochemistry, solid-state chemistry, inorganic materials and on materials for energy applications held for the master degrees in Materials and Energy Engineering. He was invited to give several lectures and tutorials in foreign universities and international congresses.

Main Research Topics
Electrolyte and electrode materials for energy conversion and storage devices: anion-exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs), proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HT-PEMFCs), direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs), PEM electrolyzers and redox flow batteries (RFBs); Polymer electrolytes and electrode materials for secondary lithium and magnesium batteries (beyond -Li batteries); Study of the electric response of ion-conducting, electric and dielectric materials by Broadband Electrical Spectroscopy (BES). The results of the research activities of Prof. Di Noto were the basis of several technologies transfer processes and led to several national and international patents sold to private companies.

Membership and Appointment
