Date of birth: May 13, 1964

Mirto Foletto is the head of the Week Surgery Unit at the Padova University Hospital. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1989 and specialized in General Surgery in 1994, both at Padua University. Fellowship in Surgical Oncology in 2003 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston (TX) - US, Department of Surgical Oncology. Visiting Surgeon in 2004 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles (CA) - US, Department of minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. Appointed as Bariatric Surgeon of Excellence within IFSO endorsed COE Program in 2011. Bariatric Surgery Consultant for Johnson & Johnson Medical since 2012.

Educational activity
He is appointed adjunct Professor of Surgery, tutor and proctor for Residents in General Surgery and Internal Medicine at the University of Padova since 2010.

Main Research Topics
The research activity is directly linked to clinical practice and is mainly defined in the framework of bariatric surgery, minimally invasive techniques, surgical procedures for the treatment of melanoma and soft tissues sarcoma.
