Date of birth: August 18, 1970

Valentina A. Salomoni is Assistant Professor of Structural Dynamics in the scientific Italian sector (SSD) ICAR/08 at the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering of the University of Padua, Faculty of Engineering, Italy.
She worked as a Research Grant Fellow during the years 2003-2006 at the above Department and she studied for one year at the University College Dublin (Ireland) as a Marie Curie Fellow (post-doc; 2002-2003), after obtaining her first post-doc (1999-2001) and her Ph.D. in 1999. She obtained a 3-month Tempus Phare grant at the Technical University of Lodz (Poland) on porous media in 1995.
She participated to various specialist courses on Mechanics of Materials and Parallel Computing.
She was/is coworker in various European Research Projects among which BRITE EURAM II: HITECO, EURATOM: MAECENAS, GROWTH: UPTUN; RAMWASS.
She is author of 92 papers on structural engineering, soil and fluid mechanics with emphasis on computational mechanics, educational methodologies in DL online engineering and engineering applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Educational activity
Professor ("Aggregate Professor") of Solid Mechanics 2 from 2006/2007 to 2008/2009 (Master Degree in Environmental Engineering); she also collaborated (and still collaborates) within the Courses of Solid Mechanics for the Bachelor Degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Supervisor of various theses for fulfilment of B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees and Co-Supervisor of 4 PhD theses.
