Stecco Carla, MD
Orthopedic Surgeon, Professor of Human Anatomy and Movement Sciences at the University of Padova. Founder Member of the Fascial Manipulation Association and of the Fascial Research Society. Member of the Italian Society of Anatomy and Histology, of the Association Franšaise des Morphologistes and of ISMuLT. Scientific activity devoted to the study of the anatomy of the human fasciae from a macroscopical, histological and physiopathological point of view. She personally made over 100 cadaver dissections for research. From 2000 she organizes and personally holds theoretical-practical courses about the Fascial Manipulation technique both in Italy and in other countries. Author of more than 100 in extenso papers about the fascial anatomy, 80 indexed in Pubmed. Author of two books about the Fascial Manipulation (Piccin ed), translated in English, Spanish and Japanese, and of some chapters about the fascial anatomy or the Fascial Manipulation Technique. Author of the "Functional atlas of human fasciae" (December 2014, Elsevier ed.).

Educational activity
From 2000 she organizes and personally holds theoretical-practical courses about a new manual therapy (Fascial Manipulation) in different centers both public and private in Italy and in other European countries

Membership and Appointment
She's a member of the Italian Society of Anatomy and Histology since 2007 and of the Association Franšaise des Morphologistes since 2008. Assistant reviewer for Clinical Anatomy and Surgical Radiological Anatomy. Visiting scientist for 6 months (2004) at the Institute of Anatomy of the University RenÚ Descartes in Paris (Prof. Delmas and Prof. Gagey) to study the macroscopic anatomy of the fascia of the upper limb. She had a 6 months master period (2005) in the Hand Surgery Department of the Hospital Bichat, followed by Prof. Alnot. Local projects supported by University of Padova from 2005. Visiting scientist at University of Burlington (Vermont, USA) in 2007, at the "School of Neuroscience", (Prof. H. Langevin) to follow a research about the innervations of the thoracolumbar fascia in the mouse. Visiting scientist in 2006 and then in 2008 at the Institute of Anatomy of the University RenÚ Descartes in Paris (Prof. Delmas) to study the macroscopic anatomy of the deep fascia of different region of the human body.
